$36,000 Raised For Scholarships at the 26th Annual
Rockland Community College Foundation Golf Outing
Suffern, NY - The Rockland Community College Foundation raised $36,000 in scholarship funds at their 26th Annual Golf Outing, held on August 18, at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern. There were 156 golfers from businesses across Rockland County who took part in the event.
At the outing, the Foundation selected Brian Cameron, a member of the RCC Foundation Board, as "Person of the Year" for his service to the Foundation, College and community. Cameron is the CEO/President of Cameron Group Inc. of Nanuet, an independent insurance agency in business for 27 years. "Brian has a 100 % commitment to the Foundation and has served on a number of committees. He is always there--always showing his support," said Don Cairns, Executive Director of the Foundation.
"I’m honored to be selected as ‘Person of the Year’ for the RCC Foundation. The educational support that we offer a student today will pay huge dividends for the future. Everyone wins: the college, community, and the student," said Cameron.
Since its inception in 1982, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to students for scholastic excellence and/or financial need. Last year, the Foundation awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships. The Foundation also assists and enhances the academic programs of the College.
