Intended Audience: Those interested in art, art history

Abstract: Presentations offered include various styles and historic periods in the history of European and American art and Chinese art, as well as themes that focus on issues of race, class and gender. Popular topics for community organizations and libraries have included talks on the Hudson River School of Painters, Women Artists, French Impressionism, Masters of the Renaissance and an introduction to Modern and Post-Modern art.

About the Speaker: Emily Dennis Harvey is Professor and Chair of the Art Department. She received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2004). Harvey earned a BA in Art History from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY; and an MA in Art History from the Institute of Fine Art, New York University, New York City.
