Train Your Dog the Force-Free Way at RCC
Continuing Education course to begin April 24

RAMAPO – You can learn to train your dog without using force and build a trusting human/canine relationship. A dog training course offered by Continuing Education at Rockland Community College begins Monday, April 24, at RCC’s Suffern campus.

The Level I course, Basic Manners and Skills for Dogs, runs for seven weeks at the RCC Fieldhouse. The first class is an orientation for people only; dogs should attend starting the second week.

Instructor Fran Hellman has trained dogs for over 30 years and has won several American Kennel Club titles. A member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Hellman teaches a reward-based, force-free training method that fosters a stronger relationship between dog and human.

The fee for the course is $195. A copy of a current rabies vaccination must be submitted prior to the first class.
