Scholarships Available to Incoming RCC Students
More than $51,000 offered; applications due June 30

RAMAPO – Students entering Rockland Community College for the fall 2017 semester are eligible to apply for RCC Foundation scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on a broad range of criteria, with $51,000 in total funds distributed through 19 different scholarships.

Applications for the scholarships must be completed by Friday, June 30, and students must be accepted at RCC before they can apply. Information on the various scholarships and the online application form can be found at

To be eligible for these scholarships, students must have less than nine credits from any college or university. They may be current high school seniors, RCC Early Admit students, or new adult students who have never attended RCC.

Students entering RCC’s nationally-renowned Sam Draper Honors College can apply for the H.W. Wilson Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a student from each of the 10 public high schools in Rockland County. Every recipient gets $500 per semester while at RCC, and an additional $500 award to continue their education at a four-year institution. For more on the Honors program at RCC, visit

Those interested in RCC’s growing Automotive Technology program may apply for the Anthony Amoros Memorial Scholarship, given in memory of an RCC student who tragically died in a 2013 car accident. Two North Rockland High School graduates receive the $500 scholarship. To learn more about Auto Tech at RCC and the College’s state-of-the-art facility in Orangeburg, see

The Key Bank Scholarship offers $1,000 each to five Rockland County residents entering RCC in the fall semester. Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of community involvement and have a minimum 80% high school grade average.

RCC’s Scholarship Committee selects many of the awardees, with outside groups involved in selecting certain winners. Awards are based on specific criteria that may include: academic achievement, athletic or artistic talents, member of an underrepresented group, high school attended, and demonstrated financial need. A Scholarship Awards Ceremony for New Students will take place in the fall.

Scholarships for incoming students represent just a portion of the work of the RCC Foundation, which also offers scholarships to continuing RCC students and to graduating students planning to further their education at a four-year college. The RCC Foundation awards more than $350,000 in student scholarships each year, totaling about $4 million since its inception. To learn how to support the efforts of the RCC Foundation, visit
