Features programs in sports, art, computers, science & performing arts

DATE: June 22, 2018

RAMAPO, N.Y. – Rockland Community College’s popular Summer Camp returns for its 46th year on July 2, with some exciting new activities complementing tried-and-true programs that keep children coming back to the college’s well-equipped campus for its enriched learning and active sports in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

The six-week season runs through August 10 and serves children entering grades 2 through 9. Children can come for any number of weeks they choose and can mix and match among the  programs in sports, art, computers, science, and performing arts. Camp hours are 9 am to 4 pm, with extended hours of 7:30 to 9 am early care and 4 to 5 pm after care at no additional charge.

“Summer Camp gives children the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful experience on a college campus while being in a camp setting,” says Karen Kramer, the camp manager. Among the new activities being introduced are tennis sessions and targeted games for second- and third-graders, as well as two rousing new shows for performing arts campers and enhanced video gaming for older children.

The camp also features knowledgeable counselors and administrative support, reduced-cost lunches via the “Meal Deal,” full-time public safety security staff and camp nurse, and first-class indoor and outdoor facilities. RCC’s 40,000-square foot field house, one of the largest in the Northeast, allows Summer Camp to run its entire program indoors if need be, so the fun continues rain or shine.

Program costs are $300 for the week of July 2 and $320 for each week thereafter. For more information, call 845-574-4451 or contact or go to
