Rockland Community College to Hold 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony
open to the public

RAMAPO - Please join us at Rockland Community College’s 9/11 Memorial Garden to remember the victims from that tragic day. Among the speakers at the ceremony will be RCC President Michael Baston and RCC student veterans.

Monday, September 11, 2017
9/11 Memorial Garden – Academic Quad
8:00-9:00 am

RCC’s Memorial Garden includes a sculpture (Spirit Rising) by Eric David Laxman, made with steel pulled from the ashes of the site of the World Trade Center. The Garden also includes benches and a beautiful inscription of Rockland County Poet Laureate Dan Masterson’s 9/11 poem, “Out of the Blue,” which will be read at the event. Young saplings nurtured from the famed 9/11 Survivor Tree are nearby.

For more information on the Memorial Garden, visit www.sunyrockland.edu/go/9-11memorialgarden.

Many people have dedicated inscribed brick pavers for the Walkway to Success that surrounds the memorial. Donations and design of your three-line inscription can be arranged through the RCC Foundation, please call 845-574-4576.
