DATE: June 20, 2019

Rockland County, NY – Rockland Community College’s popular Summer Camps return for the 47th year on July 1! Exciting new activities complement tried-and-true programs that keep children coming back to the College’s well-equipped campus for its enriched learning and active sports in a safe, supportive and fun environment. The six-week season runs through August 9 and serves children entering grades 2 through 9. Children can come for any number of weeks and can mix and match among programs in sports, art, computers, science and performing arts. Camp hours are 9 am to 4 pm, with extended hours beginning at 8 am for early care and from 4 to 5:30 pm for after care, at no additional charge.

The camp features knowledgeable counselors and administrative support, full-time public safety security staff, a camp nurse, and first-class indoor and outdoor facilities. In the Art camp, various mediums are explored with unique projects that challenge and delight young artists. Campers who love computers will learn programming, 3D animation and video game development. In the Science camp, young scientists experiment and create in a real college laboratory, and campers in the Performing Arts camp receive professional level instruction in singing, dancing and acting, and perform in RCC’s celebrated Cultural Arts Theater. The instructional Sports camp creates a safe environment for girls and boys that promotes fun and builds athletic skills. RCC’s 40,000-square foot field house, one of the largest in the Northeast, houses an indoor pool and basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, allowing Summer Camp to run its entire program indoors if need be, so the fun continues rain or shine.

“The staff at RCC summer camps take pride in caring for your children as if they were our own. Our first responsibility is to make sure that your children are in a safe, nurturing environment. We want your children to have fun and learn from our instructors that have a background in the area in which they are teaching," says Michael Murphy, camp coordinator.

This year, baseball players from the Rockland Boulders will join the campers for a day. Art shows will take place at the end of weeks 3 and 6, with parents and family invited to come to campus and view the artwork created by campers.

Camp tuition is $320 per week. For more information, call 845-574-4451 or contact or go to
