RCC Students Perform in Free Dance Concert April 5
Hudson Valley Ballet to make guest appearance

RAMAPO – All are welcome to a free dance concert at Rockland Community College on Wednesday, April 5. Performing Arts students will take the stage at the Cultural Arts Theater, and the show also features a special guest performance by the Hudson Valley Ballet.

Abdel R. Salaam of Forces of Nature Dance Theatre choreographed one piece for the performance, utilizing a unique blend of contemporary modern dance, ballet and traditional West African dance.

Students will also perform Patriotic Suite, an excerpt from a new ballet by RCC faculty member Melissa Padham-Maass. Additionally, the show features student performances in modern, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop styles of dance.

Hudson Valley Ballet is a newly-formed ballet company that will be making its first-ever appearance at RCC. One of the Hudson Valley dancers, Claire Beebe, is also an RCC student.

Performing Arts at Rockland Community College offers an AA degree in Performing Arts and students can elect a dance, musical theater, music, or theater track. To learn more, visit
