The general public is welcome to attend this inspiring ceremony. A dinner reception follows for the students and their families.

Nearly 700 RCC students are eligible to join the Alpha Phi Sigma chapter of the honor society this semester, having earned 12 college credits with a 3.6 grade point average. More than 150 students are official members of the society.

Phi Theta Kappa membership offers exceptional scholarship, leadership training and mentoring opportunities to students. Two RCC students, Emma Colchamiro and Rika Yokoji, were named to the PTK All-New York Academic Team this year. Colchamiro also received a national award and scholarship.

Many PTK members are also part of RCC’s rigorous Sam Draper Honors Program. This program offers smaller class sizes and a one-on-one mentoring relationship with an experienced faculty member. Students completing the Honors Program with a high GPA often transfer to Ivy League schools and other Tier One colleges. For more information, visit
