RAMAPO: Cliff Weathers, Director of Communications for the Riverkeeper organization, will be the guest speaker at Rockland Community College’s Science Lecture Series presentation from 12:30 – 1:30 on November 17. All community members are welcome to attend.

“Riverkeeper is a member-supported watchdog organization dedicated to protecting the environmental, recreational and commercial integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and to safeguard the drinking water of nine million New York City and Hudson Valley residents.”

In addition to a discussion of the Indian Point environmental risks past and present, topics may include the Algonquin and Dakota Access pipelines, environmental justice, public involvement, environmental activism and volunteering.

RCC offers an Associate of Science degree (AS) in Environmental Science as well as Engineering and other Liberal Arts and Sciences programs with a commitment to hands-on lab and field research courses throughout the STEM and Health Professions Division.
