Get Ahead with RCC’s Wintersession

DATE: November 30, 2017

students can earn up to four credits in three weeks

RAMAPO – College students can put their winter break to good use by taking a Wintersession course at Rockland Community College. Students enrolled at four-year colleges, as well as current RCC students, can choose from more than 40 courses in this condensed, three-week school term.

Wintersession begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, and runs through January 19. Registration is underway now and runs through the first day of classes. Non-RCC students can register in person at the College’s Suffern campus, or by mail or fax. Visit to learn more, or call Records & Registration at 845-574-4328.

Students can use the Wintersession to get ahead, or to catch up on coursework. Credits normally transfer to four-year colleges, but students should check with their schools to ensure they will accept RCC Wintersession courses. The cost is only $192 per credit for New York State residents.

Among the options for the 2018 Wintersession are courses in Mathematics, History, Speech, English, Science, Business, and Exercise and Human Performance. Science lab courses are not offered due to the condensed schedule. Head to and click on “Search for Classes” to find out the details.
