Get Ahead and Save Money with Summer Classes at RCC
registration opens March 31

RAMAPO – College and high school students can get ahead academically while saving money with classes this summer at Rockland Community College. RCC courses are open to students from any school, and many offer the convenience of being available online.

About a quarter of RCC summer students are visitors from other colleges who then transfer their credits back to their home school—at a large financial savings.  Students can use summer classes to lighten their fall course load, retake classes that they dropped, or accelerate and graduate early.

High school students who graduate this spring can take advantage of this opportunity to get a jump start on college, even if they will be attending school full-time elsewhere. With permission, rising high school seniors and juniors can also take classes for future college credit.

Students can earn up to 12 credits this summer and transfer them to another college. For New York State residents, tuition is just $185 per credit.

In-person registration for the 2017 summer sessions begins on March 31. Registration by mail or fax starts April 3.

RCC offers many courses this summer, including a wide range of science classes like General Biology, Inorganic Chemistry and Engineering Physics. Other course options range from Calculus to Digital Art to Elementary Spanish.

For those seeking a career change, RCC offers courses in Accounting, Paralegal Studies, Computer Studies or Marketing. Students can also get in shape while earning credits by taking Pilates, Lifeguard Training and Weight Training.

RCC offers three summer sessions to accommodate varying schedules:

Many RCC summer courses are offered online, and can be completed anytime, anywhere. This provides a flexible schedule for those who seek to take classes while also working or participating in other activities.
