9/11 Memorial Garden – Academic Quad
RCC’s Memorial Garden includes sculpture (Spirit Rising) by Eric David Laxman, made with steel pulled from the ashes of the site of the World Trade Center. The Garden also includes benches and a beautiful inscription of the 9/11 poem (Out of the Blue) written by Dan Masterson, Poet Laureate of Rockland County. Young saplings nurtured from the famed 9/11 Survivor Tree are nearby. Many people have dedicated inscribed brick pavers for the Walkway to Success that surrounds the memorial. Donations and design of your three-line inscription can be arranged through the RCC Foundation, please contact Don Cairns 845-574-4576.
