Text Version of Josephine Coleman's Statement

February 26, 2019

Good Evening Chairman Martin Wortendyke, Vice Chair Mary Lou Dillon, Board Members, Senior Administration & Guests

I addressed this body back in December 2017 regarding the timeliness of receiving the BOT packet by the Faculty Senate President in order to keep faculty apprised of BOT activity as it relates to academics and curriculum. Thank you for listening and for providing this information over the past year.

This week marks the sixth week of the spring semester with faculty and students in full swing, teaching and learning. Our academic classes have gotten off to a great start.

Currently we are experiencing many planned changes on campus with Guided Pathways, the new Culinary Center in Nyack, Middle States Academy and plans to seek feasible housing for international students. In light of this, there are thoughts of both excitement and apprehension and this is natural.

As we move onward, it is the hope of the faculty that the lines of communication remain open in the spirit of shared governance and transparency.

Thank you for your time,

Josephine Coleman

Faculty Senate Executive Committee Member
