Sheila Goldstein, Professor, ESL, was honored as a Master Mentor Teacher on May 24, at RCC’s Induction Ceremony of the International Honor Society in Teacher Education, Kappa Delta Pi.
Student & Alumni Achievements
Sidra Ijaz ’16 received a $1,000 scholarship from the Rockland Business Women’s Network at its annual Women in Achievement Breakfast June 15 at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern. Jill Warner, chief executive officer of Jawonio, presented her the award.
David Huerta-Morales and Elfred Nova completed the six-week Bridges to the Baccalaureate summer research program and presented their findings at the annual Summer Research Symposium, July 1, at Purchase College, SUNY. Huerta-Morales’ presentation is titled, "Investigating the Effect of Membrane Fluidity on Membrane Leakage Induced by the Antimicrobial Peptide Maximin-3," and Nova’s is, "The Impact of Climate Change on Plants and Insects: Insights from Arabidopsis thaliana and Drosophila melanogaster."
