Stephen Burke, Instructor, English and Reading and Writing Center Coordinator, virtually presented a paper at the Twelfth International Conference on New Directions in the Humanities in Madrid on June 11. The paper was entitled "Frost's Time Traveling Speaker in ‘The Road Not Taken’: A Cognitive Reading" (http://youtu.be/yit31mouG8g).
Catherine Roche, Professor, Business and Chair of Business and Professional/Public Service Division; and Lynn Aaron, Professor, Computer Studies and CETL Co-Director, presented “Intellectual Property Rights of College Educators - the Future is ‘Cloud’y” at the SUNY 2014 Conference on Instruction and Technology - Objects in the Mirror are Closer than they Appear: Reflection, Innovation, and Learning at Cornell University (May 30, Ithaca, NY).
Tzipora Reitman, Director of Campus Communications, received a SUNYCUAD (Council for University Advancement) Award of Excellence, Judge's Citation, for a series of interest-area recruitment brochures. Collette Fournier, Photographer/Campus Communications Assistant was also cited in the award for her photography.
Four RCC students presented their academic research at this year's Beacon Conference at SUNY Ulster Community College in Stone Ridge, NY, on June 6. Their presentations were selected from hundreds of submissions. The student, faculty mentor and presentation are as follows:

Amanda Iacobellis (Dr. Nancy Hazelton), "Shakespeare’s Use of Supernatural Elements: Hamlet and The Tempest"

The following RCC Photography Club students had their work displayed in a show at the Divine Shakti Arts Gallery Exhibit in the Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center, Garnerville NY (May 2 -June 9).

Herve Alexandre ’13, Maurice Chinnery ’14, and T. Eric Collins (attended RCC 2004-2006), recently performed at the Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY, appearing in Smokey Joe’s Café (May 16 – June 14).
Minori Sakai ’13 received a $500 Honorable Mention award for her artwork in the SUNY Student Art Best of Show contest. Sakai’s untitled 2011 silver print, a portrait of a Eurythmy dancer, was recognized at a June 10 ceremony at the NY State Museum in Albany.
