Sustainability At RCC
"Sustainability calls for policies and strategies that meet society's present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." EPA
The Campus Sustainability Committee is committed to sustainable use of natural resources at RCC. Among the programs are:
- Conservation of electricity - "Turn Off the Juice When Not in Use" program.
- Reduction of fossil fuels used for heating and air conditioning
- Recycling
- R.O.S.E. Reusable Office Supply Exchange
- "No Pesticide" policy for grounds maintenance
- Purchasing plan to buy sustainable products such as recycled paper and environmentally friendly cleaning products
- Decreased use of paper
- Composting cafeteria waste
- Maintenance of wildlife habitat
- Climate Action Plan
