Emergency Notification System

by Webmaster last modified February 24, 2009 02:19 PM

Our emergency notification system SUNY Emergency Alert will enable fast and efficient dissemination of critical information to members of the SUNY Rockland community during an emergency. SUNY Emergency Alert will allow the College to send simultaneous alerts in minutes through text messaging, voicemail and e-mail to numerous devices, such as cell phones, landline phones, fax machines and PDAs. It provides our students and employees with an additional layer of security and protection in an emergency situation.

The effectiveness of this notification system depends upon individuals providing accurate and up-to-date personal contact information. We urge you to partner with the College in registering your cell phone number as well as other emergency contact information so that College officials can effectively communicate with you. This system will accommodate:

  • two (2) email addresses
  • three (3) telephone numbers
  • one (1) fax number.

All information provided to the SUNY Emergency Alert system will be kept confidential

To Register:

  1. Go to SUNY Emergency Alert at www.suny.edu/sunyalertsec
  2. Select Rockland from the campus menu
  3. Enter your college email username (without the '@sunyrockland.edu') and password and submit
  4. Register your contact information as you deem appropriate

If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Bill Murphy, Director of Public Safety at SUNY Rockland Community College, at (845) 574 - 4362.
