Board of Trustees Policy on Presentation

Approved by the Board of Trustees of Rockland Community College on May 3, 2018.

On May 3, 2018, the Rockland Community College Board of Trustees passed the following resolution:

WHEREAS,  It is important for trustees to be kept informed on matters critical to the oversight of the College; and

WHEREAS,  The Board wishes from time to time to receive information in the form of an official presentation from external individuals and groups; and

WHEREAS,  The Board wishes to formalize the process for how presentations are to be requested and scheduled for Board workshops and/or meetings; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That the Rockland Community College Board of Trustees adopts the following policy regarding presentations at board workshops and meetings.

  1. Any trustee may make a request for a presentation to be delivered at a future board workshop or meeting.  This request should be made to the Board Chair and it is at the Board Chair’s discretion as to whether to approve or deny the request.
  2. The Board Chair will be in contact with the Secretary to the Board of Trustees who will be responsible for ensuring the respective individual/group appears on the specified workshop or meeting agenda.
  3. Unless otherwise noted by the Board Chair, presentations at workshops and meetings shall not exceed 15 minutes and there shall be no more than one presentation made at any single workshop or meeting.
